#stageplays

Opening: 15 March 2024

Duration: 16 March - 4 May 2024

In residence at the Charim Factory this Spring, Isa Rosenberger continues her work on #stageplays. The photo series #stageplays is reminiscent of theater posters that are displayed in showcases or on the walls of theater foyers and refer to current, future or past productions.

Also exhibited at Charim Factory is Rosenberger's project "... the vast land from which she comes". This project is based on a dance evening by Gertrud Kraus in April 1934 at the Volksheim Ottakring in Vienna and unfolds a story that is told from the gaps and extends to the present.

Rosenberger's photo series "Ružinov" is also on view. This series takes place at a fountain from the 1960s in Bratislava, a post-socialist "empty space" in the urban space. The photos show a platform in a pool of water that once served as a stage, as well as two concrete consoles dripping water to form a curtain, and are accompanied by a "play".

At the same time, Rosenberger's work is presented in the group exhibition ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTESSES at the Künstlerhaus in Vienna from March 9th to June 9th, 2024. This group exhibition shows works by artists who reflect on the female and queer creativity of previous generations.

Isa Rosenberger (*1969, Salzburg, Austria) studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. In 2008 she received the Otto Mauer Prize and in 2012 the Outstanding Artist Award for Video and Media Art. She lives and works in Vienna.
